Winner!  This proposal is amazing.

damnnnnnn….

Hello everyone!  Thanks for checking out my video!   If you would indulge me, I just wanted to share a little bit about this piece with you all so you have a better and deeper understanding of my show and why I did it.

This is what I like to call, “Unit 337” for hopefully understandable reasons.  It’s a one-time collection of not only some of my best friends, but dancers who both inspire me at the utmost heights and support me at my unfortunate lows.  In short, they are my family which means that in order for me to truly communicate my vision with this routine, I could share the stage with none other.

This show is simple, to me, it is about the my pursuit of happiness.  I think about dance EVERYDAY and only recently did I think to my better-late-than-never self that I should “go for it” and live that hopeless romantic dream of being a starving artist gone Cinderella story.

And here I am, still the starving artist, but with the support of all of that family right next to me on stage, I realize I only have God to thank for all of the happiness that is in my heart right now.  And I hope that, if you’re still reading this, it will give even the slightest inspiration to remind you that your loved ones will always support you in your dreams, and that we’ll all go through that incredibly amazing struggle together.  Because the only failure is in not trying.  Thanks for following me on my pursuit of happiness thus far.

I appreciate you.

one of the interesting things about success is that we think we know what it means. a lot of the time our ideas about what it would mean to live successfully are not our own. they’re sucked in from other people. and we also suck in messages from everything from the television to advertising to marketing, etcetera. these are hugely powerful forces that define what we want and how we view ourselves. what I want to argue for is not that we should give up on our ideas of success, but that we should make sure that they are our own. we should focus in on our ideas and make sure that we own them, that we’re truly the authors of our own ambitions. because it’s bad enough not getting what you want, but it’s even worse to have an idea of what it is you want and find out at the end of the journey that it isn’t, in fact, what you wanted all along.

To all my creative friends out there…this is just an encouragement going out to you.I think this pertains to a lot of you who ask me questions regarding dance…well find how this applies to you! Art is a process…
Keep fighting!

HAPPY FRIDAY!  My latest choreography video featuring Lawrence Kao, Mikey Andaya, and myself.  Music by Shook feat. Ronika - “Distorted Love” .  In addition to a well-shot version, I wanted to include a version with no cuts- just dancing.  Enjoy!
